JANUARY - "Starting Over"
Resolutions and getting to know you month
As usual January was resolution month and Ali, Cindee, Daisy and Annette our fab resolutions team did a great job of presenting this year's resolutions. They informed us of the pros and cons of each and also how we could become involved in each at a local level if it got passed.
Following this we had a fun game to get to know our fellow members. It was great to see old friends and welcome new ones. As it is a new year we could open our doors again to new members. If you are reading this and are interested in joining don't hang about - membership is filling up fast again this year.
The program was also available at this meeting and the line up for 2017 looks varied and interesting. Starting with next month's speaker, Micheal Carrigan educating us on DNA and fingerprints and crime in the modern world...maybe we will get a few tips and tricks (kidding!).

HIGHLIGHTS OF 2016

September Annual Seaside Trip
A cold and blustery day didn't dampen our spirits on our annual seaside trip, this time to the historic naval dockyard at Portsmouth. After a fortifying cup of tea on arrival we were off to discover the treasures of the dockyard, the main one being, we all agreed, the Mary Rose Museum. What a treat, definitely recommend a visit there. Then we headed off in different directions, some to the HMS Victory, some to see HMS M.33 and others over the water to the submarine museum. After all this education and exploring it was off up the Spinnaker Tower for excellent views and prosecco before a lovely dinner at the Old Customs House. Another excellent outing, looking forward to next year already

In January, we discussed the proposed NFWI Resolutions and voted on our favourite. During tea and cake we tried to identify photographs taken from unusual angles around Streatham. Finally Bridged showed us the progress on the Streatham High Road Quilt. Volunteers to add further buildings are welcome. (Help will be provided)
